Big Walls Big Dreams (BWBD) is a large-scale mural initiative produced by UP Art Studio, a Houston-based civic art and placemaking studio. BWBD launched in Miami during Art Basel week in 2015 and came home to Houston in 2021, where it has grown into a citywide program with more than 120 murals by local, national, and international artists. The festival turns blank walls into landmarks, gives artists a platform for ambitious, high-visibility work, and adds to the cultural identity of the neighborhoods it touches. Each project is shaped by a mix of artistic vision and partnership with property owners, sponsors, districts, and civic bodies.
