Næstved Kunstby Festival

Næstved Kunstby Festival revitalizes forgotten and dull urban surfaces in the Danish town of Næstved by bringing international graffiti and street artists to create vibrant murals and installations. Since its inception, the festival has aimed to inspire local youth and foster cultural dialogue by connecting the town with artists from cities such as São Paulo, New York, Munich, Zurich, Barcelona, Berlin, Amsterdam, and Milan.

Managed by Næstved Ungdomsskole, the festival focuses on accessible, community-oriented urban art while supporting creativity, inclusivity, and cultural growth. Local artists are gradually involved in the program, creating opportunities for mentorship and collaboration. The festival also emphasizes safety and responsible urban development by securing permissions from property owners and local authorities.

Næstved Kunstby transforms the city into an open-air cultural gallery, offering residents and visitors a positive, unexpected, and interactive artistic experience. It positions Næstved as a modern, creative, and culturally engaged city, promoting dialogue, inspiration, and community pride through public art.
