PFFFestival is a cooperation project between the City of Stuttgart, the Baden-Württemberg Foundation, and Kunstverein Wagenhalle. Its mission is to bring color and creativity into Stuttgart’s public space through large-scale murals, making the city more vibrant and livable.

Launched in 2022, the festival commissions national and international artists to create five new murals each year, aiming for over 20 large facades across the city by 2025. These works are spread across different neighborhoods, encouraging interaction between artists and local communities.

Stuttgart’s graffiti and street art scene has been active since the 1980s, but compared to other German cities, large murals have been rare. With PFFFestival, Stuttgart joins projects like Mannheim’s “Stadt Wand Kunst” in establishing a long-term mural program.

The festival also features an annual exhibition at KVWH, showcasing murals alongside paintings, sculptures, and the PFFFestival Journal, which documents the artworks and participating artists.
