South West Mural Festival

Canada

South West Mural Fest is a grassroots mural festival based in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan, a rural prairie town of around 1,700 people. Founded in 2024 by local artist and muralist Andrew Robertson, the festival was created to bring high quality public art to places that are often overlooked.

As Saskatchewan’s first dedicated mural festival, SWMF invites artists from across Canada and internationally to paint large scale works in the town’s downtown area. In its first two years, the festival has produced 13 murals, strengthening community pride, supporting local businesses, and drawing new visitors to rural Southwest Saskatchewan.
